US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the American leader’s son-in-law Jared Kushner plan to visit Moscow and then Kiev. The trip may take place on September 5–6. This was reported on September 4 by TASS, citing an informed source. “They expect to arrive in Moscow, then in Kiev,” the agency’s interlocutor clarified. Other details, including the negotiation agenda and possible meetings, are not provided.

The day before, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that the dates of the visit had already been set. According to him, American representatives confirmed that they would hold a meeting in Moscow and another in Kiev, with the latter expected in the coming days.

Witkoff and Kushner serve as key mediators of the Donald Trump administration in efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Previously, they have repeatedly visited Moscow for negotiations with the Russian leadership, including President Vladimir Putin. On September 1, Putin noted that both emissaries are always welcome guests in Russia and that Moscow is happy to work with them.

The planned visit will be the first for American mediators in Kiev.
