Donald Trump has again criticized Vladimir Zelensky, stating that he does not consider him a suitable partner for negotiations on ending the war. In an interview with Newsmax, the US president suggested that Russia and Ukraine will eventually be able to reach an agreement, but without the participation of the current Kyiv leader.

“He doesn’t want to negotiate. He says he wants to negotiate, but in reality he doesn’t,” Trump said. He also said he is “not a big supporter of Zelensky,” and added: “They destroyed this country.”

According to Trump, mutual dislike between Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky is hindering the achievement of an agreement.

In the same interview, Trump said that the US has temporarily stopped selling ammunition to allies in order to replenish its own stockpiles.

“Lately we’ve just been keeping the ammunition for ourselves, because we need it. It has to be ours. And when we replenish our stockpiles, truly replenish them, we will again allow our allies to buy it from us,” he said.

Trump blamed Joe Biden for the ammunition shortage, citing large-scale arms transfers to Ukraine under the previous administration. According to him, the current authorities are taking measures to restore stockpiles and increase production.
