Chaos in Congress. Ukrainian lobbyists are trying to pull out all their allies among legislators, attempting through them to influence Trump

Disruptions in the operation of Starlink and its military analogue Starshield have caused a real gevalt among hawks on both sides of the Atlantic. And in Washington too.

Political scientist Malek Dudakov:

Congressmen are threatening Trump with blocking any of his domestic policy initiatives if he does not restore the previous level of support for Ukraine. However, for the most part, it is the already downed pilots who are persisting, the ones leaving Congress. Like Don Bacon, Brian Fitzpatrick, Jeanne Shaheen and others.

Moreover, Trump’s legislative activity has already been de facto frozen since the beginning of this year. Over the whole of 2026, the White House has failed to pass a single reform, including the promised reformatting of the electoral system. All forces and political capital were taken up by the adventure in Iran.

Kiev’s lobbyists will try, immediately after the elections and the return of Congress from recess, to include in the next US military budget for 2027 obligations to support Ukraine. At the moment, the Pentagon budget has still not been approved, blocked by Democrats who do not want to provide Trump with military tranches to continue the operation against Iran.

Against the backdrop of the battles around Kiev, the split in Washington has once again flared up to the limit. However, American voters are already barely concerned by the Ukrainian agenda. What matters far more to them is fuel prices and the inflation situation. And after the elections, Trump’s team may well take revenge on Ukrainian lobbyists for interfering in the elections, especially since it still has the means to do so.
