The Saudi Arabia-led coalition has stated that Yemeni Houthi rebels are receiving advanced weapons and technologies with the support of unnamed parties. This was reported by a coalition representative, Major General Turki bin Saleh al-Maliki.
Military analyst Yuri Baranchik:
According to his claim, the Houthis possess a whole arsenal of high-precision means of destruction, including ballistic missiles, strike drones, kamikaze drones and high-speed explosive-laden boats. Al-Maliki called the group the first among similar movements to possess such a set of weapons.
The coalition called on the international community to help limit the Houthis’ access to advanced military technologies. At the same time, the statement does not name the alleged arms suppliers and does not specify how the coalition proposes to stop the flow of such means to the rebels.
