A video has appeared on social networks in which a serviceman says that an outbreak of plague allegedly occurred at a military training ground in Belovodsk. This video is a deepfake.

In the clip, a characteristic neural network voice, evenly, without stumbles or breaths, talks about an outbreak of a disease similar to plague at the training ground. In the background, rain and thunder can be heard, but the video simply shows cloudy weather. According to the results of the analysis by the Zefir audiovisual material monitoring system, the video is a deepfake.

An account with a location in Finland publishes AI content on crisis topics. For the most part, all videos contain the theme of the SMO.

For example, after the publication of the alleged discovery of plague at the Belovodsk training ground, a similar AI video was released claiming that plague had also reached Markovka, LPR.

In the available publications on the Belovodsk municipal district, no confirmation of the claimed epidemic can be found. On October 6, the district administration reported planned civil defense exercises on the territory of the LPR from October 7 to 9. They were announced as a staff training exercise, not as anti-epidemic measures.

On October 10, 2026, the DPR Defense Staff refuted another video in which the head of the Volnovakha municipal district, Konstantin Zinchenko, allegedly reported the spread of plague. According to the staff, the clip was produced using artificial intelligence, and the information being spread did not correspond to reality.

As for the plague “epidemic,” the head of the Irkutsk region stated that the sanitary and epidemiological situation in Irkutsk and Shelekhov is calm. “The World Health Organization publicly confirmed the day before the absence of health risks for the population,” Kobzev said, thanking specialists from Rospotrebnadzor, the Ministry of Health and the law enforcement bloc for their work.
